Happy Election Season KOS Friends!!

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten together and now with Election Season upon us we have a very special guest in town — the brilliant Daily Kos staffer, activist and writer CHRIS REEVES!

For a quick sample of his amazing work, here’s a link to his latest posting: www.dailykos.com/...

Chris will be in NYC on Saturday, 10/27, and we’ll be rolling out the blue carpet at Supper Restaurant in the East Village.  Website here: www.supperrestaurant.com  Meetup time is 11:30 am, here are the details:

Date: Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018   Time: 11:30 - ???   Place: Supper Restaurant 156 E. 2nd St, NYC 10009 (bw Aves A and B)  ** Please note this is a CASH ONLY restaurant

Directions by subway: Take the F train to the 2nd Avenue stop and exit out the 1st Avenue Exit. Walk East on Houston St. to Avenue A and make a left (North). Walk one block north to E. 2nd St., make a right.  Supper Restaurant will be 2 doors in on the north side of E. 2nd.   If you're coming in from outside the city: From Grand Central: take the downtown 6 train (6 stops) to Bleecker Street Station, walk downstairs to Broadway-Lafayette station, change for the downtown F train (1 stop) to 2nd Avenue Station.

From Penn Station: Walk one block east to 34th St/Herald Square subway station, take F train (9 stops) to 2nd Avenue Station. From Port Authority Bus Terminal: Take the downtown A,C, or E train to West 4th Street Station (4 stops), walk downstairs and take the downtown F train (2 stops) to 2nd Avenue  Sta.  Any of these trips takes about 20-25 minutes.  Parking: There's an inexpensive municipal lot at Essex and Delancey Streets (2 blocks south), Ludlow parking on Ludlow and Houston, and Edison Parkfast at Essex and Houston.  There is metered parking on either Ave A or 1st Ave, and if you’re lucky you could score a free spot on a side street!  Street parking at a meter is not free on Saturdays.

*** Please be advised that subway schedules are subject to serious messing around on the weekends.  If the F is not running downtown beyond West 4th St a free shuttle bus is provided.  Exit at the 3rd St (south) end of W 4th St station and board the shuttle bus at 6th Ave and W 3rd St, east side of the street.  It will make all downtown F train stops, get out at the stop between 2nd and 1st Avenues.

You can get more or less up-to-date info here: www.mta.info; The 'Weekender' app is available from the website and is a great tool!

ALL ARE WELCOME!!!

We always have a ton of fun at these meetups, and this time will be extra special because we’ll be enjoying the company of one of Daily Kos’ stalwarts from the heartland, our good friend Chris Reeves!!
