Last day to register to vote in the New York state and local primary election for is Friday August 19.
The primary election will be held on September 13, 2016, and the general election will be held on November 8, 2016.
Registration forms sent by mail must be postmarked no later than the same date and received by a board of elections no later than Aug. 24. In person registration can be completed at local board of elections sites or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act.
